Experts say it is much better to stand than to sit while you go about your daily routine. That is why you see the new “standing office workstations” in banks and other business center, but can you raise your computer monitor to your eye-level as well as the keyboard and mouse so that you can stand while you blog?

Well, it is up to you. However, there other things bloggers can do to supplement the effect of sitting all day. I implore you to take your health every serious, it is the first and most important thing that will define how you work.

What you eat is what you are;

Your diet is very important. If you spend most part of your day sitting down, in the long run, you will be gaining fat which might leads to obesity.

Schedule meals alongside your daily to-do list and treat it as an appointment. This will stop you from going to fast food. And learn how to prepare your own foods, so you will know what ingredients is in it.

If you must drink coffee, then drink loose-leaf tea, which is better for fat-loss than coffee. Loose-leaf tea is also good for increasing energy levels. Still on the junk foods, learn to control the amount of snacks you eat during the day.

Avoid snacks packed with sugar

If you don’t want to waste your time counting your calories on a regular basis, then what you should do is simple; be careful and not opting for that regular unhealthy snack packed filled with sugar, it can damage the life of the blogger faster than you think.

Back problems

No doubt, one of the major problems encountered by bloggers is back problem due to long sitting… You can prevent back problems with the following tips. Go get a chair that lets you put your feet on the floor while keeping your hips and knees level.

If you must, use a footstool to accomplish this, if necessary. And while you are busy writing that new article, coding that app, or designing that wordpress theme.

It is recommended that every half hour you should get up and go for a short walk. You can also use this time to drink some water, so keep a bottle of water nearby. Research shows that drinking water will help you to stay alert and focus.

Tilt your head from side to side, then backward and forward. If you are a full time and a successful blogger, (between, every blogger is successful, you are yet to discover your mojo 😀 ) then you should get an exercise ball to use as a chair.

This will help you to keep your spine in proper alignment. It is also adviceable to stretch your hands and fingers in between all that blogging! I do it every time and I urged you to do it.

Go For a Run

Take out time to go for a run every now and then, it will help in a long run. If you must, then you should consider getting adjustable dumbbells to help you do exercise at home.

Thank you for dropping by Kungphoo.. It is important that you always sit well, and you are already doing the writing thing by moving around. You might also want to add jugging into your exercise routine… This will help to strengthen your body/bones more…

This is a good post! It is very important to stay healthy. If you sit at the computer all day long like I do, you might tend to ignore things like regular exercise and eating properly. I know I do. Thanks for the reminder. Take care of yourself!

I’m a kind of man who rarely thinks about health. The first thing I should do is to have a proper posture working on computers. I rather sit with my spines than with my sitting bones:P

This is an enlightening post. Thanks for your tips!

Since last April, I started running.

The health benefits have been brilliant – but it also clears your mind, and when I sit down to write a post or work on my blog, I just find I am in a much better frame of mind.

    Great post 🙂
