The Four Steps to Recruiting Affiliates More Efficiently
Here are four quick and easy steps to making your affiliate recruiting process more efficient.
First: Set up a Better Affiliate Info Page
The first and best step to getting more efficiency out of your affiliate recruiting process is to tidy up where you get the best affiliates in the easiest manner—your affiliate info page. Since all it takes is some great content to tell your potential leads why they should partner up with you, the work is minimal. Easy part? Check.
But what’s more is that the affiliates that come though your info page are generally professional marketers who know what type of products and services they want to sell. This means that they’re coming to you, a sure sign that that they are likely high-quality, experienced affiliate marketers. They won’t take much training since they already know how to promote the type of services or goods you are offering. This makes them quality. Check.
The only real drawback here is if your site isn’t targeted for your audience or if you have a low traffic flow coming in. Luckily, cleaning up your affiliate marketing info page can help give you a boost in both of these areas—but won’t be enough on its own to draw in stellar leads. Don’t worry, there are still four more steps!
Second: Join an Affiliate Network
When you join an affiliate network, all of the affiliates in that network are instantly able to see your merchandise in the network’s marketplace. This is essentially a show and tell for your goods and if they are good, the affiliates will come to your page on their own.
Of course, some goods and services need a little extra help, especially in a saturated market or high-risk venture. There’s nothing wrong with going directly to your competitors and recruiting their affiliates. Simple Google search the products or services your competition is offering and see which affiliate sites pop up. This doesn’t cost you a thing and since the affiliates are already at the top of the SERPs, you know that they know what they’re doing.
And while it might not be easy to convince them to come over, a higher percentage will normally do the trick. While this might not be as cost-efficient sounding as the other steps listed here, just think of it this way: you’re taking away profits from your competitors and adding an excellent affiliate that brings quality to your team without doing much work. Finally: Attend Affiliate Events
While this might not be that easy for everyone (depending on where you live), these can be fun networking events so we’ll go ahead and say that fun trumps easy. Plus, you’ll be in direct contact with thousands of merchants, affiliates and networks for a few days so if you have a charming smile, a winning personality and an unforgettable sales pitch, this is going to be extremely easy for you.
Try to schedule your meetings in advance with the affiliates you’d like to recruit. Offer them outings to a restaurant or bar—make the trip worth their—and your—while.
